Design Review Services
Acting as an ‘extra set of eyes’, Sedona International has developed Review Services where in-progress designs are reviewed by subject matter experts and a report submitted on findings, including a risk assessment to differentiate weak versus critical design characteristics.
Review services are tailored to each customer and project. A full compliment of design support capabilities are available to ensure a successful project.
Documentation
Requirements for Design Reviews include but are not restricted to:
- Block Diagrams
- Functional Requirements
- Design Specifications
- Design Guidelines/Intent
- Design Constraints
- Design Verification Test Plans
- Automation of BOM Processing
- Library Management and Release Procedures.
Design Services
Design Review Services are offered for the following:
Architecture, electrical design, mechanical design, signal integrity analysis and simulation, power integrity and simulation, timing analysis, thermal simulation, schematics entry, PCB place and route, fabrication and assembly resourcing, design verification testing and RoHS BOM screen and compliance design services.
The review process can cover: the complete design, specific functional blocks, or focus on specific disciplines within the engineering design process.
At a high level it includes review of full functional requirements and specifications, schematic and layout.
It can go down to the lowest level such as:
- Datasheet reviews,
- Pin-by-Pin logic
- Physical symbol checks, including all supporting discrete component values, tolerances, power rating etc.
- Review of pertinent app. notes.
- Determination and review mechanical and thermal, placement, routing constraints.
Leveraging automation allows efficient checks of the necessary but mundane such as Pin name to Net name correlation checks and Interconnect and netlist verification to between logic block.
Above all we recommend and apply good design practices that facilitate easier, more efficient review and check off procedures.
